If you follow our Instagram since a while you probably noticed that we’re quite fond of the Moscow Mule. It’s perfectly refreshing in the Summer and won’t shoot your lights out after the first drink like most of the classic cocktails would.
As a twist on the common Moscow Mule you should clearly give the Grapefruit Moscow Mule a try. It’s a fruitier, sweeter version but still checks all the marks. If it’s to impress your guests at your garden party or just to fight the heat, we don’t think you’d be disappointed in the result!
60 ml vodka of choice (stay away from the flavored ones)
60 to 100ml fresh grapefruit juice
Optional: simple syrup or grapefruit syrup
Fill the vodka into your copper mug (hey, we won’t judge if you use a glass but it’s a Moscow Mule!) and add freshly squeezed grapefruit and lime juice.
Depending on how tart or sweet your grapefruit was you can add a bit of simple syrup or even grapefruit syrup (which can fancy up the color as in our example) to taste but it’s really not necessary.
Add a lot of ice to basically fill the cup with it and then top it off with the ginger beer.
As a garnish you can freely choose between a lime wedge or a grapefruit wedge. If you used all of these up as ingredients to make Grapefruit Moscow Mules (*cough* guilty as charged) you can make a beautiful decoration with a fresh cherry and some mint leaves.
